Have you been avoiding the task of building or redesigning your author website because it seems too complicated or technical? I was honored to discuss this topic as the lead presenter in the most recent Writers Chat from Serious Writer along with Rhonda Dragomir. Our goal in the video discussion below was to take a God-focused approach to our websites while trying to make the technical aspects approachable.
If you’re a Christian author, the most important step in planning your website is prayer. There are so many Christian writers who acknowledge the dream God put in their heart, but leave God behind to pursue it.
Above the craft of writing or the technical aspects of the business, our primary goal as Christian Writers is to glorify God. Always keep that in the forefront. Yes, it’s a business, but you were created to bring glory to the name of God in everything you do. If God put a dream in your heart, He will reveal Himself in every detail. Seek Him in every step.
HERE’S A BRIEF OUTLINE OF WHAT WE COVERED IN THE DISCUSSION:
- BEFORE YOU BEGIN or REDESIGN YOUR WEBSITE: MAKING A PLAN.
- SELECTING YOUR SITE’S PLATFORM
Wordpress.com VS. WordPress.org VS. Wix/Squarespace VS. Build From Scratch - SELECTING YOUR WEBSITE HOST (And features to look for in a host)

Dear Joshua:
I hope you and those you love are well. I just watched your YouTube, Website Wizardy and WordPress, on Feb 18, 2023. I had been praying for a direction on a website and was at a loss as to where to begin. I have researched this for so long, but praise the Lord, I landed on your website and video today. This has been a real answer to prayer. Thank you for allowing our Lord to use you for His praise and glory. May God continue blessing you with such gifts to help His people get His word out there. Please take care. Angelika Mitikas
