<EVALUATING OUR RELATIONSHIPS AUDIO>
Podcast Topic:
Evaluating My Relationships |
A big part of letting God transform our lives is evaluating all our human relationships. As God heals us, we’ll discover there are some people we need to learn how to forgive, and others that we need to make amends to in order to move forward. We may also find relationships we need to let go of.
In the first six episodes of The Journey of Healing podcast series, we discussed how to start seeking God in our lives, how to examine those lives, and how to submit to change. In part 7, the series turns its attention to evaluating our relationship with others.
The first problem I faced in learning this principle was not knowing how to evaluate a relationship. I realized that my view of a relationship was not always the most accurate, objective, or healthy. That’s why we need God’s intervention as we learn this skill.
In this episode of the Brookwood Church Care Ministries podcast, I’m joined by fellow Care Ministries pastors, Gene and Doug to discuss the sixth of eight principles used in Celebrate Recovery* and the Landing. These 8 principles* (based on the Sermon on the Mount) can be used to strengthen your walk with Jesus even if you’ve never attended one of these ministries.
PRINCIPLE 6:
Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others, except when to do so would harm them or others.
“Happy are the merciful.” and “Happy are the peacemakers.” (Matthew 5:7, 9)
How has God worked in your life to examine relationships?
I’d love to have you share in the comment section below.
