Hey, it’s me, the Bat Pastor.
Today we have a very special Heroes of Faith Bible verse because today is Batman Day (I don’t think there’s a Bat Pastor day, but that’s not why we’re here).
This year’s Batman Day is special because The Dark Knight turns 80. Batman first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939.
So then why is Batman Day in September? I have no idea. It’s a riddle! Curse you, Riddler!
Either way, happy birthday, Batman.
In honor of this solemn day, I want to remind us what Isaiah teaches us about being a hero of faith:
Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed.Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
Isaiah 1:17 (NIV)
Heroes of faith change the world one spirit-filled act at a time.
Happy Batman Day

Yes, great verse. We need more superheroes in Christ to do what that verse says! Happy Batman Day.
Hey, that’s a good verse for any super hero. Thanks for sharing!
Happy Batman Day BatPastor! I could not have chosen a better verse to signify what you do my friend; one soul at a time. To quote another great superhero from my childhood, you also seek “Truth, Justice, and the American Way!” God’s blessings sir. p.s. I’m not telling Alfred where the spare cowl went.
Your comment made the Bat Pastor smile, Mr. Wininger. I’m so grateful for your kind words. I think we’re called to encourage one another to acts of justice, mercy, and compassion. That’s why this verse from Isaiah is one of the Bat Pastor’s favorites. I think that guy in the red and blue likes it too.
Love this! 🙂 Thanks Josh!
I especially like “one Spirit-filled act at a time”…goes right along with the intro to Experiencing God. 🙂
I’m not sure who this Josh is that you’re referencing, but the Bat Pastor is pleased that this post was helpful. We should remind ourselves that God works through small acts to fulfill the work of His Kingdom. We must be obedient in how we interact with others. Thank you for your encouragement and support.
